vCloud Director Appliance could not generate certificate – Are you deploying it from ESXi Directly or vCenter

Do you have a vCloud Director Appliance and you are deploying it from ESXi by directly logging in to the ESXi using vSphere Client?

Beware, you may end up receiving certificate generate error while at the deployment stage as below:

Generating SSL certifications for sfcb in /opt/vmware/etc/sfcb
Generating SSL certifications for lighttpd in /opt/vmware/etc/lighttpd
No value found
No value found
Unable to determine the cdrom devices, perhaps none have been configured: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: ‘/proc/sys/dev/cdrom/info’
Unable to find the ovf environment.
FAILURE: OVF environment not supported. Please deploy on compatible vCenter Server.

So, to get rid of this, you need to deploy the OVF package by logging in to the vCenter Server. This was vCenter Server should be able to prepare the OVF environment for the vCloud Director.
